Fat Tuesday at the Louisiana! Tuesday, March 5th
It’s confirmed! The Zach Serleth Swingtet will be at the Louisiana on Fat Tuesday (March 5th).
The Louisiana is the meeting place of a monthly swing dance event in Baltimore called “Stompin’ at the Louisiana.” This dance is unique because it is a musician/dancer organized event. Dancers in town wanted a better place to dance to the swing musicians of Baltimore and the musicians were looking to form a swing dance focused band. The timing could not have been better.
Ri Sulli at LOR Events ‘discovered’ the Louisiana, in a way. You see, the Louisiana, although it is a restaurant with a fabulous New Orleans style chef, it is not open to the public. Thats right, only private parties, weddings, and the like get to explore this palace of an eating establishment. The place is beautiful. Every room is covered in decorative painting, marble, dark wood, murals and chandeliers. It’s worth coming out just to get to explore this place.
The Louisiana’s house band is the Zach Serleth Swingtet. A mini big band playing swing and chamber style jazz. It consists of some of the best swing players in the Maryland, DC, Virginia area and they are quickly gaining a strong reputation in the swing scene. Members include:
